Early legendary route: Durandal, the Arbiter medallion, and Isbrand greaves
Use the broken bridge, waterfall, and kobold nest to find three useful pieces, with escape checks, medium-armour penalties, and upgrade costs explained.
Start with one legendary sword you intend to keep, then add an accessory that suits your build. A full early legendary wardrobe also creates a continuing upgrade bill. This route distinguishes reaching the loot from being ready to clear the surrounding enemies.
Prepare before leaving Laslea
Finish the prologue and reach the open world. For the night route, practice Shadowstep and wall traversal first. Keep a departure save and another outside dangerous areas. Clear inventory space and prepare healing for both forms. Red-skull enemies are not your clearing objective on this trip.
| Target | Landmark | Best reason to visit | Main risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Durandal | Collapsed bridge southwest of the starting area; cart in the chasm below | A greatsword to retain and upgrade | High-level enemies and a difficult return climb |
| Arbiter's Medallion | Waterfall cave near Parlita, below a bridge | Stamina support | Missing the central body while looting containers |
| Isbrand's Greaves | Rockfalls kobold nest; chest behind the enemies | Nighttime claw and vampire abilities | Medium-armour proficiency penalty |
| Knightly Ring | Island beside a bridge near the Tatzelwurm lair farther south | Swordmastery support | An optional dig and its time cost |
Durandal: inspect the bridge before descending
Find the collapsed bridge southwest of the starting village. Inspect the broken cart on the bridge to update The Cursed Chasm, then look for the landing area below. Do not jump from an arbitrary cliff just because it is southwest on the map.
The video uses nighttime movement for a quick descent. That depends on position and timing; it is not a guarantee of fall-damage immunity. Reload your bridge save if necessary. Approach the quest wreck from an unobserved side and confirm Durandal in the loot window.
After collecting it, leave along the cave edge and lose pursuit before climbing back. Do not trade blows with the entire group beside the cart. Follow 08:08 onward in the Bilibili demonstration or KhrazeGaming at 10:12.
Arbiter's Medallion: go behind the water
Continue south toward Parlita and activate an available shrine as a return point. Find the nearby bridge, get down to the water, and check behind the waterfall. The entrance is below the road.
Inside, you can collect silverware and other loot, but the target is on the central body. Confirm the medallion in that inventory. Its stamina-related affixes support attacking, dodging, and travel; read your own item's values.
Isbrand's Greaves: circle behind and check proficiency
At the Rockfalls kobold nest, watch the enemies' facing. The demonstration climbs along the outside rocks and approaches the rear chest while crouched. This is an avoidance route, not a promise that the chest remains accessible once you are detected. Check your escape path first.
The greaves support claws and vampire abilities. They can wait if you mainly use a sword by day. For a medium-armour build, inspect the Second Skin I manual offered around Maragir Crossroads, read it, then train at a shrine. Purchasing the manual alone does not remove the penalty.
Know when to upgrade instead of collecting more
Once you have a sword you enjoy, use it for a few quests. When damage falls behind, compare a smith's upgrade cost and resulting stats against another equipment trip. A higher base number on an ordinary item does not automatically replace a useful art or synergistic affix.
The Knightly Ring is an optional extension farther south. The recording shows its region from 13:09: check the island beside the main bridge near the lair for a dig site. Leave it for a later pass if your current quest budget is tight.
Continue with skills and armour proficiency or the Mihai sword and Arbiter armour questline.
